About Me
Steve Maynor Jr. M.A.
Communicate 2 Lead (C2L) Consulting & Strategies LLC commenced its journey in November 2025. The 2025–2026 academic year signifies over 8 years of post-secondary education teaching effective communication skills. Prior to this, I taught at multiple Community Colleges and Universities, focusing on Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, and Introduction to Human Communication in various formats.
A retired Marine Master Gunnery Sergeant (E9) with over 23 years of service, he has held numerous roles, including Drill Instructor, Assistant Marine Officer Instructor at the University of South Florida, and Maintenance Data Specialist Chief at MCAS Cherry Point, NC. Originally from Folkston, Georgia, he now resides in Greensboro, NC, with his wife, a registered nurse. In his spare time, he enjoys dominoes, barbecuing, reading, and watching documentaries, and he proudly embraces his role as a father of four daughters and a grandfather of five while continuing to lead consulting efforts in communication strategies.

At C2L, I believe in challenging individuals and teams to critically think about leadership and effective communication in their personal, professional, and social lives. My mission is to help students, faculty, and staff members discover their strengths and weaknesses as communicators. Through personalized consulting strategies, and instruction, we will work together to create a communications plan tailored to the unique needs and goals of schools and businesses. My services are designed to help clients strengthen a variety of leadership skills and techniques at all levels, promote the importance of interpersonal communication, and emphasize how vital it is to building and maintaining strong relationships. Additionally, I assist new and experienced speakers in navigating the world of public speaking. I am here to guide clients every step of the way by practicing civility and respect—two traits I believe are the cornerstone of our society.
